Company Info Page

The company info page should talk about all the basics of the business. This is less a page you read than a page you skim, so it gets written pretty fast. It is also a good place to include some company history, if it is an existing business, or a "how it came to be" paragraph if it is a new business.

For example, if it is an existing business, say why the owner is selling, why you decided to buy it, how it was run, and any changes/upgrades/etc. you plan to make, in general level detail. If you are starting a new business, explain how you decided to start it, what lead you to the point where you are now, and bascially just a short story of how the business idea got started and carried out.

Other important facts to include:

Name of Business, plus any DBA info
Form of business (sole propietor, Corporation, etc.)
Physical address of the business
Phone number
Operating hours
Number of employees (if any)
Physical description if appropriate (for example- a restaurant might say how many tables, how many bar stools, etc.)

You should list on this page any advisors you may have, and/or any legal or accounting counsel who you are working with.

Also list any contact names and info for people who will be involved in the loan application or beholden to investors when the financing happens. These people will be listed again in the management section, but here is where you can put their contact info.

Overall, this page of the plan is fairly easy to write, and not overly time consuming. It is a good place to start if the process of writing is not one you are very comfortable with- it kind of breaks you in...
